Should people with skin imperfections avoid wearing makeup?
It is normal to want to hide the imperfections on your skin. Therefore, it’s important to choose makeup appropriate for skin with imperfections. Choose a light, non-oily foundation that is also non comedogenic & won’t clog pores. Make sure your skin is thoroughly clean before applying the foundation with perfectly clean hands.
Pimples and blemishes. Cleansers and make-up removal.
Cleansing and treating oily, acne-prone skin is vital – but whatever you do, be gentle. Removing make-up is essential for the health and vitality of our skin. In the morning, use a foaming gel to cleanse your skin deeply. In the evening, remove make-up with a cleansing milk and do not forgot to moisturize - even oily skin needs hydration!
How can teenagers prevent skin imperfections?
More than 76% of teenagers have skin problems between the ages of 11 and 18! Good skin hygiene is essential at this stage of life. Morning and night, eliminate impurities and sebum with a soft cleanser that has the appropriate pH for the skin. If imperfections become too invasive, consult a dermatologist.
DON’T LET SPOTS RAIN ON YOUR PARADE!
When a spot appears, we feel helpless. The temptation to pop an annoying spot can be so strong! So how can you resist? Here are some helpful tips...
1. Stop looking in the mirror!
Cosmetic mirrors can make things seem much worse than they really are, and if you’re all by yourself at home sometimes you can’t help but give in to temptation…
2. Remind yourself that it’s really not the end of the world!
Before a date or an important meeting, sit yourself down calmly and tell yourself “Yes, I’ve got a spot, but it’s not going to be there forever – it WILL go away!”
3. List your best qualities
A little spot is nothing alongside your winning smile or that sparkle in your eye…
4. Do something constructive with your hands.
Taking positive action to care for your skin can be reassuring. Clean it, protect it and cover up that spot with suitable corrective make-up.
5. Keep things in perspective!
Look around you – you’ll soon see that everyone has their little skin flaws, but you can count yourself lucky that you now have all the tools to deal with the problem!
Imperfections are less apparent during the summer, is the sun a good cure?
Did You Know?
Since the sun dries out pimples and improves the sebum’s fluidity, the skin seems cleaner. However, UV rays can cause skin to thicken and the sebum’s outlet canal becomes thinner, so the sebum accumulates in the deeper layers of the skin.
When you return from vacation, the accumulated sebum comes back to the skin’s surface and creates new imperfections, often more than before – it’s what we call the “rebound effect”.
What To Do:
During the summer, don’t change your habits and go on caring for your skin. Continue gently cleansing your skin morning and night and applying your soothing and regulating skin care product.
You must also control the amount of sun exposure – avoid tanning too quickly, expose yourself progressively after applying a sunscreen lotion with an SPF of at least 30. If you’re being treated by a dermatologist for acne, avoid sun exposure altogether.
